Lola Leone
Lola Sierra Leone, (born December 24, 1989), best known as Lola Leone, is an American model, actress and television personality. Lola first appeared on the catwalks in 2007 at the age of 18. She is considered a supermodel in the fashion industry. She has appeared on more than 180 magazine covers. In recent years she has expanded her profession to reality television by becoming the host of the syndicated reality series called D.U.S.T.
Lola was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Sierra Leone (née Momoa), a public health nurse, and Leonard Leone, an electrician. She was the youngest of three daughters. Her father (whom she never knew), but Lola’s mother later described him "an absolute bum" who was often abusive to her, and they divorced shortly after she was born.
As a youth, Lola looked at magazines and admired the freedom of women who were involved in the fashion industry. There due to her height, she was ostracized by many of her classmates in school. Lola took part and won first place in LeFleur Model Management Supermodel of the World 2006, and ended up signing with the agency.
Lola was an instant success in the fashion world and a muse for many of the top designers. At Milan Fashion Week Spring 2010 (held in September 2009) Lola was in high demand and booked 9 shows.
In 2008, she released an autobiography, entitled Model Mayham: Confessions of A Supermodel, documenting her journey from a childhood to the catwalks of Europe .
In 2005, Leone was arrested for identity theft after buying appliances, furniture and household items with a credit card she found in a wallet at a local mall. In 2006, Leone pleaded no contest to the charges and was placed on three years' probation, along with 250 hours of community service.
Leone was also ordered to pay $4,000 to the credit card holder and $1,500 in restitution to the credit card company.
